Same Day Cerec Crowns

Preserve damaged teeth with same-day dental crowns in Clarksburg and Bridgeport, WV

Dental crowns can provide invaluable protection to damaged teeth, and in some cases, it can mean the difference between saving your tooth or losing it. However, not everyone has the time to take multiple trips to the dentist to restore their teeth. All Smiles Dentistry in Clarksburg, WV, is the only dentist office in the county that offers CEREC technology to provide same-day dental crowns to our patients. Dr. Roger Suter and Dr Adam Boustany use dental crowns to address a wide variety of issues with your teeth.

How dental crowns prevent tooth loss

Cuts close, broken bones heal, but once your teeth are damaged, there is nothing your body can do to repair them. Dental crowns act like armor for damaged teeth, providing them protection from the force of your bite, so they do not break down or fall out. A dental crown fits over the entire visible portion of your tooth, and ceramic ones are designed to mimic the shape and shine of your natural teeth perfectly.

Dental crowns are used to preserve teeth damaged by tooth decay that is too extensive to fill alone or support teeth after a root canal. They can also be used in conjunction with dental implants to replace missing teeth. Using CEREC technology, the All Smiles Dental team can provide your restoration in a single trip to the dentist.

What to expect from your procedure

Dental crowns are crafted to fit tightly over your tooth, and your dentist will need to remove the outer layer of tooth enamel to create enough space for it to fit comfortably. If you have an infection or extensive decay, Dr. Suter or Dr Boustany will remove the infected tissues to halt decay. Next, they will gently remove the outer layer of tooth enamel using precision instruments and round the shape for a better fit. Your mouth will be numb throughout the procedure so that you will not feel a thing.

Once the tooth is prepared, your dentist will use a small imaging device to take a digital impression of your tooth. The CEREC machine uses advanced software to design your restoration and then mill it from a ceramic block that matches the shade of your teeth. After about 40 minutes, your crown will be ready, and your dentist will bond it into place using dental cement. With proper care, your crown can last over 15 years, and you will be able to chew and speak without issues.
