Replace missing teeth with Dental Implants in Clarksburg, WV

Missing teeth are much more than an aesthetic issue. It can increase your risk of tooth decay, snoring, and TMJ disorders, and more. Dr. Roger Suter and the team at All Smiles Dental offer dental implants to support your oral health
and restore your smile.

How dental implants support your oral health

Dental implants are the only way to replace the entire structure of missing teeth and restore full functionality to your smile. Once it is in place, it will support your jaw to prevent bone loss and keep your remaining teeth in place and allow you to chew your food properly. Replacing missing teeth will also reduce stress on your jaw by evenly distributing your bite force.

Dr. Suter has advanced training and years of experience placing dental implants, and he utilizes the latest technology and techniques to plan and place dental implants. He may recommend dental implants to replace a single tooth with a crown or several missing teeth in a row using a dental bridge. If you are missing an entire arch of teeth, Dr. Suter can place complete dentures on as few as four dental implants. Implant-supported dentures provide a perfect fit and significantly reduce the stress on your jaw, and with proper care, they can last a lifetime.

The dental implant process

Dr. Suter uses Cone Beam CT scanning to create 3D images of your jaw to evaluate the treatment area and determine the best approach for placing your implants. Some patients may require bone or tissue grafts to provide extra support for the dental implant. Dr. Suter will discuss your case’s specifics and help you decide the best course of action for replacing
your teeth.

Dental implants are typically placed after your extraction site has had time to heal properly. Dr. Suter will insert a small, screw-shaped rod directly into your jawbone. After a few months, the implant will fully integrate with the bone. Once it’s healed, Dr. Suter can place the abutment where your prosthetic tooth will attach. Next, he will take impressions of the site to send to the dental lab, where they will craft your restoration. You might need to wait several weeks for the gum tissue around your abutment to heal before placing your permanent prosthetic. Still, in most cases, Dr. Suter can provide a temporary replacement while you wait. To learn more about dental implants, contact our office in Clarksburg, WV
